Personal Information

Elias graduated from highschool in the Netherlands in 2022 and is currently a senior at St. Thomas University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with an expected graduation date of May 2026. A high-achieving student, he was named to the Dean’s List for the 2024/2025 academic year. His academic focus blends traditional economic theory with critical analysis, he has taken courses ranging from econometrics to banking and international finance. His undergraduate thesis, titled "Did the adoption of bitcoin as legal tender in El Salvador alter remittance inflows to the country?", explores the intersection of cryptocurrency and macroeconomics.

Elias has demonstrated significant growth and leadership in the Bank of Canada Governor’s Challenge, a collegiate monetary policy competition. After contributing as a team member in 2024, he advanced to the role of Principal Researcher and Team Leader in 2025.

After graduating from high school in his hometown of Leiden, Netherlands, Elias relocated to Canada to begin his collegiate career at St. Thomas University in 2022. As he approaches his graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in May 2026, he is actively seeking a graduate transfer opportunity. He is looking for a competitive men's soccer program where he can make an immediate impact on the pitch while pursuing a Master's degree.
