Personal Information

Born in Blaricum, the Netherlands, Rick is a 17-year-old student-athlete eager to take the next step of his academic and athletic career in the United States.

Besides soccer, Rick enjoys going to the gym, playing padel and tennis with friends, and running. He is a highly disciplined and determined individual who consistently works hard to achieve his goals, both on and off the field. Known for his positive energy, sense of humor, and strong social skills, Rick is a well-liked teammate who adapts quickly to new environments.

Rick speaks fluent English in addition to his native Dutch and is open-minded and eager to continue developing himself internationally. As a team player, he leads by example, motivates those around him, and contributes positively to team culture with his work ethic and enthusiasm.

Academically, Rick is currently in the final year of the Dutch senior secondary education track (HAVO), following a business and economics–focused curriculum that includes geography and English. He plans to begin learning Spanish and is motivated to further develop his language skills during his time in the United States. He is scheduled to take both the SAT as well as the TOEFL in the Spring of 2026.

Athletic Information

Rick began his soccer career at the age of four with NVC in Naarden, where he immediately showed strong passion and commitment to the game. Throughout his youth career at NVC, he consistently competed at the Hoofdklasse level, training twice per week for 90 minutes and completing additional technical training on Sundays. This long-term dedication helped build a strong technical base, high work rate, and solid understanding of the game. His performances led to an invitation to the KNVB Future Trajectory, a development program designed to further enhance high-potential players.

At the age of fifteen, Rick made the move to SDO, where he continues to develop as an important member of the club. He joined the U16 team competing in the 6th division and contributed to the team’s progression into the 5th division with the U17s. During this period, Rick underwent a key positional transition. After initially playing as an attacking winger at NVC, he successfully adapted into a modern wingback role. This transition strengthened his tactical awareness, defensive reliability, and ability to combine attacking contributions with disciplined defensive play.

Currently, Rick plays for SDO U19-1 at the Hoofdklasse level. He is recognized for his consistency, maturity, and versatility on the field. His development into an effective wingback highlights his adaptability, coachability, and strong desire to continuously improve. With his technical ability, tactical intelligence, and experience at a competitive level, Rick profiles as a dynamic, hardworking, and versatile player with strong potential at the collegiate level.
