Athletic Information
Caitlynn began her softball journey in 2016 at a local club near her home. From the very beginning, her passion for the sport has continued to grow.
During her junior years, she was selected for Little League starting in 2019, with the highlight being her team’s Dutch championship title in 2023. This victory qualified them for the European-Africa Little League Championship in the Czech Republic, where they finished third in the region.
In 2021, Caitlynn was selected to join the Scimitars, one of the two Regional Talent Centers (RTC) in the Netherlands. The Scimitars are a prestigious baseball and softball academy for top-level young athletes. In 2023, she represented the Scimitars at a U16 tournament in Saronno, Italy. Since the 2022–2023 season, Caitlynn has competed in the women’s second division. She also played with her club team at the Joudrs International Cup U18 in Prague in 2023.
In 2024, Caitlynn played for the Blue Angels, a well‑known training and competition team focused on developing talented players and guiding them toward the highest levels in the Netherlands. The Blue Angels compete in the national league and participate in several international tournaments. In 2024, she played in the U21 first division on Saturdays and the women’s second division on Sundays.
In the 2025 season, she played in the women’s second division. When she returns home this summer, she will compete in the women’s first division.
In 2024, Caitlynn participated in the following international tournaments:
- Pony League (Prague, Czech Republic) and Softball in Paradise (Aruba) with the Future Stars travel team — where she won the championship.
- Zagreb (Croatia) and Barcelona (Spain) with her competition team, the Blue Angels.
- Barcelona (Spain) and Florence, Alabama (USA) with the Dutch Babe Ruth team (Henson travel team).
During the Babe Ruth tournament, Caitlynn delivered a walk-off triple with two outs in the final at-bat, securing her team’s spot in the semifinals and earning the MVP title for the game. Her team finished third. In the summer of 2025, she qualified for the Babe Ruth World Series for the second time, where her team placed second in the U18 division.
Caitlynn’s primary position is catcher, where she takes command of the game by coordinating the defense and guiding her teammates. She communicates consistently with the pitcher to build confidence, excels at preventing stolen bases, and demonstrates quick reflexes. Offensively, she is a reliable and powerful hitter, capable of executing sacrifice and squeeze bunts to advance runners. She is an aggressive baserunner who is never afraid to challenge opponents to gain an advantage for her team. Coaches value her work ethic, discipline, and full commitment — when Caitlynn is given a task, she goes all in and gets it done.
While catcher is her main position, she also frequently plays in the outfield and on the corners.
As an outfielder, she excels at keeping the ball in front of her and anticipating the correct throw.
In the infield, she shows strong game awareness, quick reactions, and the ability to keep the ball in front while staying alert and reading the play effectively.
In the summer of 2025, Caitlynn committed to Southwestern Community College (SWCC) in Iowa, where she is now playing her freshman year. She is one of the catchers on the team.
