Personal and academic information


Emilie Lugon-Moulin is a 17 year-old girl who spent most of her life in Leysin, an alpine village in Switzerland, with her parents, brother and 4 cats. Apart from playing tennis, she enjoys reading and cooking, and has played the piano from a young age. Her studies, however, come first, as she takes her academic career seriously. She is an extremely hard worker on and off court. 


Emilie holds American and Swiss citizenships, and can speak 3 languages (English, French and German). She is currently a junior in high school and is expected to graduate in June 2023. She obtained a score of 1210 points on her SAT.


She looks forward to continuing her studies in the US while playing college tennis.


Athletic information


Emilie started playing tennis at the age of five, in The Hague (Netherlands). At her arrival in Leysin, Switzerland (2012) she started playing competitively and has progressed ever since.


Emilie is an all-court player, relying on her consistency, variety and precision to pressure her opponent. Being a left-handed, her serve has shown to be very effective, and allows her to perform at her net game. 


In April 2022, Emilie competed in the main draw of the Ojai Open where she reached the 2nd roundin singles and semi-finals in doubles.


In Switzerland, she is currently nationally ranked 3rd in her year (2004), and is in the top 50 female players (all ages). Her highest UTR was 9.66. In 2022, her UTR has ranged between 8.75 and 9.0. While the period of COVID limited her tournament play, she is now actively playing Swiss and ITF tournaments, and plans to play tournaments in the US this spring and summer.
