Personal and academic information

Jip is a 17 year old Dutch athlete, who lives with his parents and three younger sisters in Voorschoten, The Netherlands. He is very competitive, hard working and always strives to be the best in everything he does. Before relocating back to The Netherlands, Jip lived in China, Qatar and finally Denmark for eight years. These experiences have helped him academically, he has attended several international schools but also helped him connect with people from different cultures. In addition he is fluent in English, able to pick up information quickly and adapt easily to different situations.

Besides being a great athlete Jip also excels academically and is at the top of his class. He is currently in his junior year of high school (VWO level) and is expected to graduate in June 2022. This spring he is scheduled to take the SAT or TOEFL and is expected to do very well.

Jip has always had the dream of playing college soccer in the USA because of the competitive nature of sports in America combined with high-level academic studies. This fits in perfectly with his personality and ambitions.

Athletic information:

Jip started playing soccer as a four year old at a professional soccer academy in Qatar. His first real club was B1903 in Copenhagen, Denmark, who work closely with FC Kopenhagen in developing players for this Danish Super Liga team.

When Jip relocated to The Netherlands, he started playing for the local team Voorschoten 97 always playing in the highest team of his age group. In 2018 he was scouted to play for the first U-15 team of Quick Boys, a top 10 semi-pro youth academy in The Netherlands.  During his time at Quick Boys he won the championship of the 2nd division and ended runner-up the year after. This season they are in second place again (the season has been paused due to COVID-19) and they have advanced to the quarter finals of the Dutch national cup in which they play against the professional youth academy of SC Heerenveen in the next round. He has also been selected for the regional teams (U13, U15) of the Dutch soccer association (KNVB region Rotterdam/Den Haag).

Because of Jip’s experience playing in these high level teams he has developed a great working spirit and competitiveness. Jip also has a lot of experience playing matches and tournaments against a large number of professional clubs ranging from ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands to Anderlecht from Belgium.

Jip is a technically skilled both footed attacking midfielder (favorite position is no.10) with a good shot and excellent passing. His strong points are his vision and his ability to defeat the opposition player with a quick dribble. He is know for his many assists and goals and this season Jip is the top scorer for his team. He is also the person that takes the penalty kicks, free kicks and corner kicks. He has also been working on his defensive game and is able to put pressure on his opponent, cut passing lanes in the midfield and pick up the ball at the defense and start the build up play. He is always willing to learn more and is very coachable.
