Caitlynn Eijking

Personal Information

Caitlynn, a 17-year-old from Hilversum, The Netherlands, is a highly driven and athletic individual who consistently strives for excellence, both in sports and academics. She is dedicated to achieving top marks on her tests and projects.

Her passion for studying in the USA while playing softball was inspired by her uncle, who successfully completed his college education at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, where he balanced both academics and tennis.

Caitlynn is scheduled to take the TOEFL in September and the SAT in December of 2024.

Athletic Information

In 2016, Caitlynn began her softball journey at a local club near her home, and from the very beginning, her passion for the sport has only grown stronger.

During her junior career, Caitlynn was selected for Little League starting in 2019, with the pinnacle being her team’s victory in the Dutch championship in 2023. This success led to their participation in the European-Africa Little League Championship in the Czech Republic, where they secured third place in the region.

In 2021, Caitlynn was chosen to join the Scimitars, one of the two Regional Talent Centers (RTC) in the Netherlands. Scimitars is a prestigious baseball and softball academy for promising young athletes competing at the highest level. In 2023, she represented Scimitars at a U16 tournament in Saronno, Italy. Since the 2022-2023 season, Caitlynn has competed in the women's second division doubles. Additionally, in 2023, she played with her club team at the Joudrs International Cup U18 in Prague, Czech Republic.

This season (2024), Caitlynn is part of the Blue Angels, a renowned training and competition team dedicated to nurturing talented players and guiding them to the top levels in the Netherlands. The Blue Angels compete in the national league and participate in several international tournaments. In 2024, Caitlynn plays in the U21 first division doubles on Saturdays and the women's second division doubles on Sundays, gaining extensive competition experience. Next season (2025) Caitlynn will play in the women’s second division doubles on Sundays and also on Saturday in women’s first division doubles.

In 2024, Caitlynn has participated in or is scheduled to play in the following international tournaments:

• Pony League (Prague, Czech Republic) and in October Softball in Paradise in Aruba. This is with a travel team, Future Stars.
• Zagreb (Croatia) and in October Barcelona (Spain) with my competition team Blue Angels.
• Barcelona (Spain) and Florence Alabama, USA with Dutch Babe Ruth team (Henson travel team).

During the Babe Ruth tournament, Caitlynn made a game-winning walk-off triple with two outs in the last at-bat, securing her team’s spot in the semi-finals and earning the MVP title for the game. Her team eventually finished third.

Caitlynn’s primary position is catcher, where she takes command of the game, coordinating the field and guiding her teammates’ actions. She consistently communicates with the pitcher to build confidence, excels at preventing stolen bases, and demonstrates quick reflexes. As a hitter, Caitlynn is reliable and powerful, capable of executing sacrifice and squeeze bunts to advance her teammates. She is an aggressive base runner, unafraid to challenge opponents to gain an edge for her team. She is a hard worker who always gives more than 100%, and her coaches can rely on her for full commitment. Whenever she is asked to take on a task, Caitlynn goes all in and gets the job done.

While her primary position is catcher, she often plays as an outfielder, where her strengths lie in keeping the ball in front of her and anticipating where it should be thrown.
