Personal Information

Isa van der Sluis is a 17-year-old student from Waddinxveen, the Netherlands. She is a dedicated and disciplined student who consistently aims for strong academic performance. Her achievements include winning an international haiku competition as well as a national German translation contest, reflecting both her creativity and language skills.

In her free time, Isa enjoys spending time with friends and cooking. Overall, Isa is a motivated, curious, and well-rounded student-athlete with a strong work ethic and a broad range of interests. Isa has a strong interest in different cultures and global experiences. She has traveled extensively with her family across Europe and to countries such as the United States, Canada, South Africa, and Malaysia. Furthermore, she participated in a three-week global citizenship internship in India through her school, where she contributed to community and development projects. This experience further developed her independence, adaptability, and global perspective.

She currently attends Coenecoop College at the VWO level, where she follows a rigorous and well-rounded academic program including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Economics, Mathematics B, German, English, Dutch, and Physical Education. She has a particular interest in Biology and Chemistry. Outside the classroom, Isa leads an active and sport-oriented lifestyle. She is passionate about soccer and currently competes for ASW Women’s First Team. In addition, she enjoys skiing and snowboarding during the winter months and has recently taken up surfing in the summer, highlighting her enthusiasm for sports and her openness to new challenges.

Athletic Information

Isa is a passionate 17-year-old soccer player who has been playing the game since the age of five. She currently competes for ASW Women’s First Team in the 4th division, where she is a regular starter at center-back. While this is her primary position, she is also capable of playing as a central midfielder, demonstrating her versatility on the field.

Between the ages of 5 and 15, Isa played on boys’ teams, consistently competing at a high level in first teams within the 2nd and 3rd divisions. During this time, she primarily played as a center-back or right-back and was frequently invited to play with older girls’ teams, often competing in multiple matches on the same day. These experiences contributed significantly to her physical endurance, adaptability, and tactical awareness. In 2021, she attended the Feyenoord Soccer School, where she was recognized as one of the top players.

At the age of 15, Isa made her debut in a senior women’s team in the 4th division. Despite the physical and tactical demands of this transition, she adapted quickly and established herself at this level.

On the field, Isa stands out for her composure under pressure, strong positional awareness, and leadership from the back. She communicates effectively, organizes her teammates, and plays an important role in building up play from the defense. Her key strengths include precise passing, speed, and high tactical intelligence, making her a reliable and impactful presence in the backline.

Overall, Isa is a highly competitive and driven player with a strong passion for the game. She consistently brings focus, intensity, and determination to both training sessions and matches.
