Who is Leysin Tennis?
An organization that offers an innovative, dynamic and comprehensive program to form future elite and club players through classes, camps, tournaments and events. Their moto: Do what you love – love what you do.
Our Team
Christine Suard, Vevey, Switzerland: Managing director, Leysin tennis Sarl tennis director, Veveysan club de tennis
As a nationally ranked junior player, Christine played college tennis in Texas and Florida. This experience and learning English gave her opportunities to coach in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and various locations in Europe. She currently trains with many elite junior players as well as being extensively involved in the Kids Tennis initiative with Swiss Tennis.
Shelley Lugon-Moulin, Leysin, Switzerland: Administrative Director, Leysin Tennis Sarl:
Shelley, born and raised in the United States, has been based in Leysin since 2012, She develops tennis programs for various clubs and organizes tournaments in the region. She is the mother to an elite junior tennis player and an avid promoter of US University tennis as an opportunity for talented athletes to continue to excel in sports while also pursuing advanced studies.
Our Goal
To prepare players for the opportunity to study in the United States on an athletic scholarship while playing the sport they love
Our message to Swiss players
When pursuing advanced studies in Switzerland, it can be difficult to continue your sport at a high level. In the United States, you can perfectly combine sports and university studies, and you can obtain financial assistance through scholarships. If you love your sport and want to continue to excel while obtaining a University degree, or if you are interested in a “gap year” experience in the US to improve your English, this opportunity might be the perfect fit for you!
Costs
The costs of University tennis, which includes up to 20 hours per week of training and fitness, team tournaments, and travel, is covered by the University, at no cost to the player. University tuition and lodging borne by the player can be significantly reduced or completely covered by academic and sports scholarships. The experience is priceless.
Partnership
Christine Suard and Shelley Lugon-Moulin of Leysin Tennis team with Made Scholarships to create awareness of this opportunity. Together, we assist motivated athletes to obtain a scholarship at a University that meets their tennis and academic goals. Contact us at 079 916 14 35 to learn more!
