Two Made athletes continue to impress on opposite sides of North America. Kenzo Surget (Shoreline College, USA) and Iris Kolk (Keyano College, Canada) were both named Athlete of the Week for their outstanding performances on the college soccer pitch.
Freshman goalkeeper Kenzo Surget from Perpignan, France, led his team to a 2–0 victory over Edmonds. He secured a shutout and even provided an assist, a rare feat for a keeper. With his composure, athleticism, and leadership, Kenzo helped Shoreline secure two early-season wins, the program’s best start in a decade.
“Kenzo was exceptional against Edmonds,” said head coach Obed Kouassi. “Away from family and friends, he’s adapting to his new life in the U.S. and showing great character at just 17 years old.”
Dutch defender Iris Kolk was recognized as Athlete of the Week by Keyano College after helping her team earn four crucial points in their playoff push. As part of a disciplined defensive unit, Iris helped limit The King’s University to just eight shots across two games, showcasing her growing confidence and impact as a first-year starter.
“She’s taken big steps forward,” said head coach Niels Slotboom. “Iris is starting to understand the tactical side of what we need from our centre-backs. She’s really creating a spot for herself, someone we can rely on.”
Iris is from Bussum and is playing her first season at Keyano College, the same school where Made Scholarships athletes Aimée Menting and Casper Jaartsveld were previously named Athletes of the Week.
