Personal and academic information

Joeri van Bladeren is an ambitious 18-year-old boy who grew up in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Joeri comes from an athletic oriented family and in addition to tennis he also played soccer at a high level.

Joeri is currently in his senior year of high school at the highest level in The Netherlands (VWO) and is expected to graduate in June 2020. He achieved a TOEFL score of 81 and was scheduled to take the SAT in March of 2020. However the test center was closed due to the COVID-19 virus and he is waiting for a new test date to become available.

Joeri wants to play college tennis in the USA so he can combine both tennis as well as academics at a high level but also have a foreign experience to improve his English.

Athletic information

Joeri started playing tennis at the age of 4. During his junior career he was amongst the top juniors of the district of Utrecht. At the age of 12 he was  coached by Tjerk Bogstra, formal captain of the Dutch Davis cup team. Last year Joeri decided to  quit playing soccer and fully commit to tennis to see what his full potential could be. He joined the tennis academy of Rudi Visser who has great experience coaching many high level talents. As a result his game quickly changed in a positive way and there is still much more room to grow.

Joeri is an aggressive baseliner who likes to take control during rallies. He has very good groundstrokes and when the opportunity arises he likes to come to the net to finish the point. When the situation requires he also can be patient and he can alternate heavy topspin with a slice backhand. Joeri currently does not have a UTR but we estimate it around 9.5
