Personal and academic information

 

Tim was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands on January 20th, 2001. He is a very athletic individual and besides soccer, he played tennis and downhill skiing at a very competitive level. From the age 16 he started doing his workouts in the gym. His weekly routine consists of 3 soccer trainings, at least 1 match and daily workouts in the gym. It was his choice to stop playing tennis to give priority to soccer, his daily workouts and his school work.

 

 Tim is currently a senior in high school at the highest level (VWO) and he is expected to graduate in June 2019. His major includes the study of math, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, English, Dutch and information technology. He scored a 75 on his TOEFL and is awaiting his ACT results.

 

Athletic information:

 

Tim started to play soccer at his his local sporting club HBC at age of 4. During his junior career he played for the highest teams in his age group.

 

Tim has been playing successfully as a striker throughout his career. Last year he and his team won their division and Tim was chosen as most productive player of the league with 21 goals and 6 assists. He is an intuitive player with a good understanding of the game and knows how to position himself best. He is physically very strong (6'3 ft; 196 lbs) which makes him hard to stop for the defending opponents. In addition he is two footed and has a great header.

 

Currently playing for the first U-19 team with a great amount of talented soccer players. Besides playing in their own league, they also play successfully against a great deal of men’s teams. 

His physical endurance and explosiveness is taken care of during the specialized boot camp training for selected soccer players at HBC sporting club which are organized throughout the whole soccer season at a weekly basis. He maintains his physical strength by working out every day in the gym. For example, his one rep max at the bench press is 115 kg.
