Athletic information

Celine started playing tennis when she was four years old. During her junior career Celine has always been ranked in the top 20 nationally (her highest ranking was 8th). Besides playing (and winning) national tournaments she also played a few international tournaments. Celine is currently ranked 106 in singles and 128 in doubles in the national open Dutch women’s ranking.

Celine is a powerful and aggressive player from the baseline. She has a powerful and varied serve and her forehand is a real weapon. Celine is always really motivated during the practice and in a match she is really focused and she never gives up. She likes to play singles as well as doubles and she likes to be part of a team. 

Celine practices 15 hours a week in combination with endurance training.

Athletic Information

Tessa started playing tennis when she was 6 years old. During her junior career she has always been ranked top 20 nationally and won several tournaments.  She won 2 Tennis Europe tournaments in de girls doubles under 14 and under 16. Furthermore she has become national champion of girls doubles under 16 and won the district championships under 12, 14, and 16 amongst others.

Last year she won the women’s district championships, the doubles in a national open Dutch women’s tournament and was 2 times runner up in the singles. This year she reached the semi finals of a 3 star national ranked open tournament and the quarter finals of the Dutch women's national championships!Due to these great results she is currently ranked 47 in singles and 48 in doubles in the Dutch open women’s ranking.

Tessa is a left handed player with an aggressive game and she likes to come to the net when an opportunity arises. Her biggest weapons are her groundstrokes. She can easily get someone out of her comfort zone when she plays the ball cross court.

She ’s also a very good team player and she likes to play doubles as much as she likes to play singles; This year she won the team masters between 4 districts and the Friesland Cup (competition between several tennis clubs in the district).

Tessa is now looking forward to be part of a college tennis team!

Julia is a 15 year old girl who lives together with her parents and her brother in Nistelrode, The Netherlands. Besides playing tennis Julia enjoys skiing very much too. 

Every day Julia travels 5 miles on her bicycle to her high school, where she is in her junior year. Julia is a good student (GPA 3.2) and is expected to graduate in June 2015.

Athletic Information

Julia started playing tennis when she was 6 years old. She is a tall (5'11 ft) and powerful right-handed player who plays aggressive tennis from the baseline. Julia is known for her dedication, excellent work ethic and her desire to win. Her biggest weapons are her powerful forehand and her good serve.

She has won the district championships 4 times, from which she earned an invitation to play at the championship of the Southern part of The Netherlands. Here she managed to reach the quarter finals twice (losing to the tournament winner), once she reached the semi-finals, and once she reached the final. So far Julia played twice at the Dutch National Junior Championships and her best Dutch National ranking was 36.

Julia has played and won many open junior and senior tournaments (a mixture of singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournaments). In addition to playing many tournaments, Julia also played club competition in various conferences with her tennisclub in which she played singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches. Playing with her team has helped her to become a good team player.

Personal and academic information

Timo has always been passionate for sports, playing football and tennis from a young age but focusing fully on tennis from the age of 12. He then moved from England to Switzerland, where he quickly adapted from hard court to clay.Timo is very motivated to continue playing tennis at a high level and to pursue his education.

His aspiration for playing college tennis in the US started at the age of 15 after joining a summer camp in the Northeast, where he played tennis and visited several universities.

His academic interest is natural science, especially chemistry and biology, as well as mathematics. He currently studies at the Lycée Denis-De-Rougement, the most recognized school in the region for natural science. Timo fluently speaks German, English and French.

He succesfully completed his SAT (1190 on CR and M combined) and he is scheduled to take the TOEFL in the Spring.

Athletic information

 Timo's favorite shot is his backhand which he often uses to counterattack from the baseline. He also likes to use his lefty forehand to push players out of the court on their backhand side. He is known by his coaches and opponents as a tough fighter who can turn matches through perseverance and an intelligent match play.

Timo has participated in local and national championships (two 1/8 round appearances) as well as international junior tournaments.  He enjoys playing in team events such as the annual “interclub” where his team went up to League National B in 2013. His team can particularly benefit from him being a lefty in doubles.

Timo’s clay court season training starts early April with a two-week camp in the South of France to prepare for the outdoor season on clay. In October, he has another two-week camp indoors. During the winter season, he plays on carpet and hard courts.

For more than 10 years, Timo has been training approx. 4 times a week and played between 20 and 30 tournaments per year. He has always been ranked in the top 20 of his age group. Timo has got a lot of potential and will still significantly develop his game given his young age and the fact that he is a late bloomer. His ranking improved from 316 to his current open national swiss ranking 142 in 8 months and is continuing on this path.

Basile is a nineteen year old tennis player from Yverdon-Les-Bains, Switzerland. He has always been passionate about sports in general but particularly for tennis. Basile graduated from high school in summer 2013. He now wants to continue his studies in the field of business. Studying in a US college would be a great opportunity for him to combine his studies and sports on a high competitive level.

 

Basile is also tennis instructor and teaches tennis in Yverdon and in different regional clubs. 

 

Athletic Information

 

Basile began playing tennis at the age of 14. This sport quickly became a real passion for him, for which he devoted all his free time since then. Thanks to his talent and his work ethic, Basile was able to quickly improve his ranking and catch up with with kids from his group age at an impressive pace. 

 

In October, Basile had his biggest win and passed a qualifying round of a future in Croatia. In the meantime, he reached his highest open national ranking (262), which will probably still increase as he is still improving every month.

Athletic Information

 

Tim started playing tennis at the age of 8 and soon his talents were recognized. During his junior career he played national junior tournaments (won a K4 in Leeuwarden) and reached a top 40 position in the national junior rankings. In addition he played international tournaments as well on the tennis Europe tour. Tim currently holds an open Dutch national singles ranking of 330.

 

Tim is a hard worker with a huge fighting spirit. He is really dedicated to tennis and he is very eager to improve his game (just as his schoolwork). One of his best qualities is counterattacking, but he is getting better and better playing aggressive as well. Tim normally plays from the baseline, but he also likes to come to the net during a point. 

 

Tim has always been playing club competition in a team and he is used to go to tournaments with a group what makes him suited for college tennis.

Aslina is a 16-years old girl from Kuching, a little rural city in Malaysia and grew up together with her 3 siblings; aged 15, 7 and 5 (Asly, Amerie and Avery). During her childhood Aslina was based in Abu Dhabi from the age of 11 to 15 after her father held a job there, but moved back to Malaysia in 2011. Naomi has an offensively game and likes to come to the net when an opportunity arises. With her very powerful serve (with 110 mph she has one of the fastest serves in the Dutch circuit), great volleys, a big forehand and upcoming one-handed backhand she has the ability to play an all-round game. She loves to play singles, but likes to play doubles just as much because of the great versatility and speed of tennis. 

The Royal Dutch Tennis Association (KNLTB) has recently awarded Naomi the status of National Talent. She is surely looking forward to working with a coach who can appreciate a girl who is always eager to tap into her potential of development and improvement. 

In one of her first ITF-tournaments, in doubles, Naomi managed to beat  two players of the Austrian national selection: Mira Antonitsch (ITF 512) and Karoline Kurz (ITF 124) (4-6/6-2/11-9). Charlotte was born in Hilversum, the Netherlands, into a so called ‘tennis family’ where all her siblings and parents are highly competitive players. Growing up she spent most of her time on the tennis court together with people that shared the same passion for the game. 

 

Charlotte comes from a family with two younger brothers and an older sister. She is a spontaneous and cheerful young woman, who interacts easily with other people. When she enters a room, she will not be unnoticed (partly due to her 6,2 ft. height!). Charlotte is a natural athlete and in addition to her tennis, she enjoys field hockey, skiing and swimming. Charlotte is a 6’2 ft right handed all-round player with an aggressive game and she will take every opportunity to come to the net. Sophie received her first tennis lessons at the age of 4 under the guidance of the national champion of Mali. After moving to Holland in 2002 she became a member of T.V. VEP (Tennis association VEP in Woerden). Within one year of joining the Tennis Association she was selected to participate in ‘Youth Plan Woerden’. This is an affiliation of six tennis clubs which provide training opportunities for select and talented players under the age of 18. Sophie has been playing for Youth Plan Woerden for 7 years. Sophie loves playing matches and challenging strong opponents. This is where she has gained valuable game experience and improved her game immensely. In 2008 and 2009 Sophie was selected to participate in the World Sports Festival in Vienna (Austria). In 2008 Sophie was the winner in the category girls under 14, both singles and doubles. Athletic Information

Throughout his junior career Felix has always been ranked top 10 nationally in his age group and fully educated by the Dutch Tennis Federation (KNLTB). The KNLTB awarded him the status of National Talent which is still valid today. He played all the national junior circuits resulting in national team selctions to play the european winter team championships.

The last three years Felix has been a member of the Pro M tennis academy where he practices close to 15 hours a week with some of the best players in the country. 

At the moment he has a national open ranking of 242 which is below his potential. The last year Felix has grown 5 inches what caused a lot of small injuries that prevented him from playing many tournaments.

Bernard started to play tennis at the age of 6. Throughout his junior career he has always been in the top 20 of his age group until under 14. Despite an elbow injury that prevented him from playing a lot of tournaments, Bernard managed to reach a top 10 national ranking in the age group 16 and under. Besides playing the junior tournaments he also played some open tournaments resulting in national open ranking of 98 which is the second best ranking of the players in his age group

The big improvement in his level came after the recovery from his injury in October 2010. He started to train a lot harder and in combination with the physical-training he is stronger and fitter than ever. His weekly practice schedule consists of six times a week weight training and conditioning and eight times a week tennis training.

Bernard’s biggest weapons are his serve and his forehand. He has a very aggressive baseline game and he will take every opportunity he gets to go to the net and  finish the point with a volley. His backhand is very solid and he mixes it up with spin and slice in order to disrupt his opponents rhythm.

Nick moved from Leeuwarden to Enschede to be able to train 18 hours a week at a professional tennis-school. One of his coaches is Ad Luttikhuis, who used to be the coach of Ruxandra Dragomir (21 WTA) and Reamon Sluiter (46 ATP). Once a week Nick receives a private lesson and every day he is working on his fitness and condition. As a result of his move to Enschede, Nick developed himself tremendously the last year.
 
Nick is a left-handed allround player who plays very aggressive from the baseline. His forehand is a real weapon which he plays with heavy spin. His  backhand is a bit flatter, but also very powerful and aggressive. Besides clay court Nick is also very comfortable on hard court and carpet. The last years Nick has been playing a lot of open tournaments what resulted in a Dutch open ranking of 248. His national junior ranking under 16 is top 30. This summer Nick also played some Tennis Europe Tournaments in Denmark and Spain in which he won the Doubles and a couple of times and he reached the second and third round in the singles.
