Personal and academic information

Daphne is a 16 years old girl who lives in Castricum, The Netherlands together with her parents, brother and sister and her dog Pip. Daphne can be described as a sportive, motivated, ambitious person who will try to get the best out of herself but also likes helping other people. In her spare time she loves to spend time with friends and family. When it’s winter she likes to go skiing in France or Austria. 

 

Daphne is currently in her senior year of high school (HAVO level) and is expected to graduate in June 2020. She is scheduled to take both ACT as TOEFL in spring of 2020.

 

Last October, Daphne went to New York with her family and there she discovered the possibility to play college soccer. Since that trip it is Daphne’s dream to study in the USA and play college soccer. 

 

Athletic Information

 

Daphne started playing soccer at Vitesse’22 when she was only four years old. During her junior career she played with the boys in the highest team of her age group. During that period Daphne played at different positions like right back and right midfield. From the the age of 9 until 13 Daphne was selected for the regional team of the KNVB (royal dutch soccer federation). At the age of 13, Daphne was then selected to play for the Telstar Academy where she trained threetimes a week in addition to her two times a week with the boys at Vitesse’22. Telstar Academy eventually became VV Alkmaar and this season she was selected to play fulltime for them. At VV Alkmaar she trains five times a week and play matches with VV Alkmaar first girls team under 17 who compete in the 2nd class boys league.

Daphne is a technical forward who is physically very strong has great overview and has a hard shot. She likes to receive the ball in her feet to divide the play to the wingers in order to eventually position herself in a scoring position. She has a real winning mentality and will never give up. Daphne also plays indoor soccer by Sportstars Alkmaar, one time in a week in the evening.
