Personal and Academic Information

 Rick is a person who had a passion for sports ever since he was a small boy. He came in contact with the game of golf when he was 12 years old. Before that he was a talented soccer player. He soon found out that he had a bigger passion for golf so he decided to focus only on golf. Rick is very dedicated to the sport and his goal is to combine golf on a top level together with his education.

Rick will obtain his high school diploma in the spring of 2013. This diploma represents the highest level of high school in the Netherlands. He plans on taking his SAT and TOEFL in the spring of 2012. Upon successful completion of these tests he will be eligible to compete on any collegiate level.

Athletic Information

Rick biggest strengths are his patience, hard work and his determination.

At the age of 14 he was immediately successful finishing 5th at the Freshman Youth Tour at the end of the season. In 2009 Rick became a member of Golf club Almeerderhout where he still plays for the first team, competing at the highest level in Holland. Rick played several national and international tournaments including The National Open and the final of the Challenge Youth Tour where he finished 2nd.

The last two years rick has made a great progression under the guidance of his teaching-pro is Marald van Reijsen, resulting in a drop of his handicap from 11 to handicap 3. Rick also qualified for the first time to play with the Dutch national team in and against Ireland at the end of the summer.

  • Club Championship under 21 (79,75, +10) 1st
