Personal and academic information

Yip is a 17-year-old girl who lives with her parents and sister in Heemstede, The Netherlands. She is an athletic girl who works hard with a good perseverance. Besides playing field hockey, Yip loves to play other ball sports, meet up with her friends, loves  photography and likes to travel. 

 

In addition to being a good athlete, Yip is also a good student. In 2017 she graduated Cum Laude in VMBO-T (Preparatory secondary vocational education) and is currently pursuing a MBO (Senior secondary vocational education) BOL 4 level Interior consultant in Amsterdam. This is a four-year study but due to her high grades, she was able to combine year one and two in her first year.

 

In June 2021 she is expected to graduate and then she would love to combine her passion for hockey with studying in the US.

 

Athletic information

 

Yip started playing field hockey for MHC Alliance at the age of 5. During her junior career she has always played for the highest team in her age group at national level (SUPER B/ SUPER A). At the age of 15 she was selected for the regional team of North Holland and also selected for the national team U-16. This year she was invited to be a part of the selection of national team U-18. Unfortunately, she did not pass the final selection. Yip is Currently playing for the first women's team of MHC Alliance that competes in the 2nd highest women's level in the Netherlands (Overgansklasse)

 

Yip is a very versatile, technical and dynamic player that prefers to play midfield but can play at every position at the side flanks. She is a type of player that starts an attack by winning the ball. Yip is also a very fast, hardworking and fanatic team player. She is eager to learn and very open to coaching.

 

With offensive penalty corners she can be the injector, stopper or hitter but she is mainly used for her tip-in qualities. In the defensive penalty corner, she is the first or second runner.
