Personal and academic information

Eline is a seventeen year old girl who lives in Deventer, The Netherlands together with her parents and older brother. She is an independent and social girl who, besides playing volleyball, likes (to make) music and to travel. Eline also has coached several junior volleyball teams over the recent years.

Eline is in her senior year of high school (HAVO level) at CSE (Centre for Sports and Education) in Zwolle and is expected to graduate in June 2017. At the CSE she can combine her education with volleyball because this school adapts the course-roster to the training hours and also delivers training for selected sports, including volleyball.

 

Eline scored 1070 on her SAT and a 95 on her TOEFL.

 

Athletic information

 

Eline started playing volleyball when she was eight years old and her talents were soon recognized. During her junior career Eline was selected by the RTC (regional talent centre - Zwolle) and remained in this program for the maximum amount of time (five years). 

 

Last year she played in the third women's team of VV Alterno, in the second Division of The Netherlands. In addition she was middle blocker in the first junior team that became third at the Dutch national junior championships in 2016.

 

This season she is playing for the first womens team for Krekkers that plays in the first division. The choice to switch to this team is greatly influenced by the “power play” style of the team.

 

Eline is a 6'1 ft middle blocker that stands out because of her high jumps, powerful hits and her fast hits from all positions. She has a powerful and fast jump-serve and she has the ability to bring energy back in a team by her positive attitude and coaching abilities in the field. In addition she is very coachable and is a hard worker who gladly accepts a challenge. 

 

Eline practices 12 hours a week and plays competition in the weekends.

Alinda is a sixteen-year-old girl living in Amersfoort, a city in the centre of the Netherlands. She is a very dedicated, independent and organized person who always aims to get the best out of something. Besides playing volleyball she loves to play piano and she has a passion for drawing. After her study she aspires to travel.

Alinda also excels in the classroom and she currently is in her junior year of high school at the highest level in the Netherlands(VWO). She is taking bilingual education (IB) and received her Cambridge Checkpoint certificate two years ago. Despite the fact that Alinda could only attend school four days a week for a year due to her national team responsibilities, she is still performing at the top of the class. Her grades are great for science courses as well as for social courses and English. 

Alinda is scheduled to take the ACT in April of 2016 and the TOEFL shortly after.

Athletic information 

Alinda has started playing volleyball when she was ten years old  and soon her talents were recognized. She started off as a middle blocker but after three years she decided to make the switch to outside hitter and opposite because those positions offered more variation and she is able to assist in defense as well.

At the age of thirteen Alinda already played in the second women’s team of AVV Keistad, which played Promotion Class. A year later she was selected for the Dutch national junior team where she was valuable for the team as an outside hitter for two years. She played against the national junior team of the USA and Brazil. During this period, she has played many tournaments. At the age of fourteen she participated in an international tournament in Milan. Also, she has reached the finals of the Dutch championships three times and has won the Dutch national cup West Holland twice. This year she won the Dynamo International tournament under eighteen with her team.

In order to play at a higher level Alinda moved club teams to VV Huizen at the age of fifteen. This season she plays for both the second as well as for the first women’s team, which plays top division, the second highest women’s level in the Netherlands. 

Alinda is a 6’1 ft  outside hitter/Opposite and her biggest quality is her spike and block. Alinda has the ability to hit past a block and she can hit angles very well: straight and diagonally. She is fast, has a great work ethic and coaches describe her as a very coachable person. Her enthusiasm is also very valuable for her team.

Athletic Information

 

Selina started playing volleyball as a middle blocker at V.V. Alterno at the age of 5. Even though she didn’t have the length for a middle-blocker she has the ability to jump very high so her reach was higher than the others. Eventually she switched to the setter position and she was quickly noticed by the coaches of higher age groups. 

 

Selina took part in the Dutch National Youth Championships for the last 5 years and became national champion. She is currently playing for the second women's team in the 'top Division' at her club V.V. Alterno. She also made her debute for the first womens team that plays in the highest womens league in The Netherlands (Eredivisie). In December of 2016 Selina and her team won the Engie international tournament, a tournament where the best (inter)national teams compete.

 

Selina is a 5’9 setter that can jump very high. The benefits of her ability to jump very high is that her block is very strong and if she gets the opportunity to attack in a match it is a strong one. She is also known for how fast she is and she can always give a overhand set. 

 

Selina practices 14 hours a week and plays games on the weekend.

Fleur is a sixteen year old girl who lives  in Apeldoorn with her parents and brother, close to one of the premier Volleyball Clubs in the Eastern part of the Netherlands.

As an athlete, Fleur is dedicated to contribute her best to the team by setting high standards for herself. 

Fleur is currently in her junior year of high school at the highest level (VWO) and is expected to graduate in June 2016. Fleur has a passion for the performing arts and is taking both the ACT and TOEFL test early 2015 in support of exploring college opportunities in the US.

Athletic information

Fleur started playing volleyball at the age of 6 at V.V. Alterno and was recognized for her talent early on with her placement in top performing teams. Selected by the RTC (regional talent centre - Zwolle) her first international appearance at age 14 in Spain lead to her winning the 'Best Allround Player' (MVP) at the DELA-Hevo International. 

Fleur successfully took part in the the Dutch national youth championships (asics open) for the last 5 years. In 2010 and 2012 she became national champion and in 2011 and 2014 she was runner up. She is currently playing for the second women’s team in the ‘Top Division’ which is the second highest women's division in The Netherlands. 

Fleur is a remarkably 5'10 outside-hitter and her strength is her versatility and ability to target her kills from any position on the court. Her defense is strong and she has a keen eye for strategic play.

Marjolijn is a 17 years old girl who grew up in Bussum, The Netherlands. She is a positive creative person and besides playing volleyball Marjolijn also enjoys swimming and painting.

 

Marjolijn is a good student and she is used to combine her studies with a tough volleyball schedule. She speaks very well English and she has followed 3 years of international baccalaureate education. Marjolijn is currently enrolled as a senior in high school at the highest level of education in the Netherlands (VWO). Marjolijn has been playing for the Dutch national youth team since 3 years in which she played many international games and tournaments. Since 2011 Marjolijn has been selected for full time residency as a member of the Talent Team Holland, a program sponsored by the NOC/NSF (National Olympic Committee /National Sport Federation). The talent team offers a unique opportunity for top athletes to combine full time training, studying and living in Arnhem. Professional equipment and minimal travel time for the athlete are key elements. Practice, educational facilities, housing and facilitate medical care, physical training and mental guidance within cycling distance are offered to the athletes. Here they can develop themselves further with the ultimate goal to have them play for the national team!

 

Marjolijn practices 20 hours in the week with the Dutch national youth team and with a team that competes at the highest women's division. Last year she played first division club competition in the women's league. This year she will compete with the Dutch national youth team in the highest women's league in The Netherlands.

Personal and Academic Information

Kiki is a 16 year old girl who loves to compete in various sports. Besides volleyball, Kiki also likes to go horse back riding, run, and to play tennis. Kiki is a good student and currently a senior at the Twents Carmel College de Thij in Oldenzaal, graduating in May of 2012. She will be taking the SAT in January and the TOEFL in February of 2012. Upon completion of these exams, she will be eligible to compete in both NCAA and NAIA. 

Kiki's dream is now to combine volleyball at a top level and studying in the USA to grow as a player as well as a person.

Athletic Information

Kiki started to play volleyball when she was 6 years old and soon her talents were recognized. During her junior career, Kiki has always played at the top level for her club Set-Up 65, winning many individual and team awards.

She is currently playing as a setter for her team Set-Up 65. Some of her strengths include her speed, game intelligience, and her drive to score points as a setter. Together with her strong serve and good invented ‘second balls’ she also can be one of the top scorers. Kiki is a hard worker (both on as well as off the court) who loves to compete.

She trained for 4 years with the Dutch youth volleyball association (nevobo) and in both 2008 and 2009, Maureen was named Most Valuable Player of the Dutch youth volleyball association championships. Maureen competed 3 times at the fisec games with her school team in the following countries: Malta, Hungary, and Portugal. She took part in the finals of the Dutch youth championships (asics open)  six times.
