Kyra is a 17-years- old athlete from Wehl, The Netherlands, who has been running from a young age. She graduated high school (HAVO level) in June 2017 and immediately went for 1 year to Australia to improve her English and develop further as an athlete. She achieved a combined score of 1060 on her SAT and a 69 on her TOEFL

 

Athletic information

 

Kyra started running when she was 7 years old and was mainly running distances of 800 m till 5 km until the age of 15. Kyra is a very hard working athlete who always gives 100% in practice and loves to compete. 

 

During her junior career she ran many national and international meets. In 2016 she made the decision to start focussing on the 400 and 800 m that year Kyra and her team became 3th at the 4x400 meter relay at the open national Dutch championships. In 2017 she became 8th on the 800 meter indoor nationals under 18 and she improved herself with almost 3 seconds this year (from 2.19.66 to 2.16.99). This time ranked her 24th at the under 18 nationally.

 

On the 400 m Kyra started the 2017 season with a time of 59.83 but rapidly improved herself to 58.09, which placed her 7th at the under 18 national ranking list. Later that year at the national Dutch championships she became 6th on the 400m. This year in February Kyra improved her PR to 57.89. In order to improve her 400m speed, Kyra also started running 200 meters and she even competed 2 times with a personal best of 26.35.

 

Kyra is currently in Australia and her new practice environment gave her an enormous boost and a higher technical quality to her training sessions.As a result of the increased practice, the coaching staff of Kyra is expecting her to improve her PB between 56 and 54 seconds during the 2018 season. In the next few weeks she competes at the state juniors, state open, nationals juniors and she is set on qualifying for the open national championships in Australia.

 

Kyra has ambitions to improve (mentally and physically) and to qualify for main international competitions after college.

Personal and academic information

 

Djurre is an 18 years old runner who grew up with his family in Grolloo, The Netherlands. Besides running Djurre has a great passion for outdoor sports. Kayaking and scuba diving are among his favorites but he also can also really enjoy rock climbing and mountain biking. In addition to this Djurre also has a very quiet side and can really enjoy a good novel and a piece of classical music.

 

Besides his sport and school career, Djurre is also working for an outdoor company. At this company he has gained a lot of knowledge about working in different branches of outdoor sport and working with large groups of people  and children.

Djurre can be described as someone who is mentally tough, never gives up and is very focussed on his alethic career.  His is able to divide his time very efficiently among his work, school and sports.

Djurre is currently going into his senior year of high school (VWO, the highest level in The Netherlands) and is scheduled to take the TOEFL on June 25th 2015. He scored a composite score of 22 (total 87) on his ACT.

Athletic information

 

Djurre started track and field when he was nine years old and within a few years his focus has been on running. During his junior career Djurre has competed at many national and international tournaments and due to his very good results (3 national championship titles in one year) he was selected for the Dutch national track team in the season 2011/2012.

 

At the end of the 2011/2012 winter season he even won the National cross country series. These series consist of the four biggest cross country competitions in the Netherlands he won three of these four competitions. 

 

In the track season of 2012 Djurre obtained second place at the 1500 meter at the national junior championships. Because of this performance, he was able to run his first international competition  (dual meet against the best from Germany) where he managed to obtain the bronze medal. 

 

In the 2012/2013 winter season he ended 5th at the national cross country championships. In the winter season of 2013/2014 he ended 6th in the national cross country championship. Later that winter he became second at the junior national championship 1500 meter indoor. At that same championship he also won a bronze medal at the 3000 meter. In the winter season of 2014/2015 he became 9th at the national cross championship. This year Djurre won the 5k of Pesse (Netherlands) and became 2nd at the National junior championships 4*400 meter.

 

Djurre is coached by Guido van Weeren and he is currently working on the  1500 meter for the new track season to further improve his basic speed. Later this season and in the coming winter his focus will be at the cross country again. Cross country is his real passion and he will be a true asset to your cross country team.

Olle van den Boom is a 18-years-old guy from Overloon, The Netherlands. 

He is currently a senior in high school (HAVO level) and is expected to graduate in June 2015. He would like to pursue a degree in Physical therapy, preferably specializing in the field of sports. Olle is scheduled to take the TOEFL in May and his ACT in June 2015. 

It is the dream of Olle to further develop as an athlete while obtaining a bachelor degree in Physical therapy.

Athletic information

 

Olle started with Track and Field when he was 10 years old, mainly focussing on cross country. After two years his coach indicated that he could be doing well at decathlon and soon he was successful. Olle likes the idea of pushing himself to the limit in all kinds of different ways. 

 

In the Decathlon his best discipline (and one of his favorites) is pole vault together with the hurdles and the javelin. His best total score is 5991 and his personal records are:

Anna Sjoukje is born and raised in a small village in the province Friesland in The Netherlands, after a short period to have lived in South Africa she moved together with er parents and two younger sisters back to Enkhuizen, The Netherlands

Anna Sjoukje participated in DLE (Dual Language Education), so all school subjects were in English in the first three years of high school. She  is currently in her senior year of high school at the highest level of education in the Netherlands. She will do her exam in the subjects, English, Dutch, French, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physical Science, Biology and Economics and is expected to graduate in June of 2015.

Athletic Information

Anna Sjoukje started running track at a very young age and very soon her talents were recognized. Besides excelling in sprints she performed well in heptathlon Until the age of 14, with best result 3rd  during the National Junior Championships.

After that she found a new coach and started to specialize on hurdles and sprints. As you can see in her progression table she improved enormously  with every year better performance and times. This year she became Dutch national junior champion at the 100 meters and 100m hurdles.

Anna Sjoukje also competed at the European Junior Championships, Rieti Italy 2013 and the World junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon U.S 2014

Personal and Academic Information

Mathilde is a 16 year old girl who grew up together with her parents and younger brother in Borculo, the Netherlands. Besides Track, Mathilde has been active in many other sports like judo, tennis, soccer, volleyball, skiing and figure-skating.

She is currently in her senior year of high school at the highest level of education in the Netherlands  (3.7 GPA) and is expected to graduate in June of 2015. She acheived a combined score (CR + M) of 1030 on her SAT and is scheduled to take her TOEFL test in the fall of 2014.

Athletic information

Mathilde started competing in track and field at the age of 12 and immediately her talents were recognized. The last three years she has been selected by the national Track association (KNAU) for the 400 m Hurdles team. Last season, she was also selected for the long jump.

Mathilde currently practices 4 times week at her club, with her coach Ennie Nijhuis (who used to be the coach of Eelco Sintnicolaas), and once a week with the national selection.

Mathilde’s specialties are the heptathlon and the 400 meters hurdles. So far she has competed in 3 heptathlons and she improved herself strongly each time. In all of her 400m Hurdles races she has achieved a top 3 position. In her last race at the national championships she finished in second place. This summer at the Vienna FISEC games she also improved her long jump personal best to 5,34 m.

Shaquille is a 17 year old track & Field athlete who grew up together with his parents and younger sister in Almere, the Netherlands. He has been involved in sports ever since he was young and he is highly motivated to become a Top Athlete. Shaquille does everything in his power to achieve his goals and he is very determined and a hard worker. Furthermore he is a social guy, perfectionist and somebody who fulfills his commitments.

Shaquille is a 6'6 ft, 235 lbs athlete who is already competing at the highest National level in The Netherlands. Discus and Shot put are the areas he is mainly focussing on. In 2012 Shaquille was shot put runner up at the national championships in The Netherlands and he is the 2nd rankend in the nation. With the discus he is ranked 6th in the nation. His results didnt go unnoticed for the KNAU (National Dutch Athletic Association) and he already has been practicing with the national Track and Field team.
