Personal and academic information

Gaayatri is a very athletic individual who is extremely passionate about tennis. In addition she loves to read and listen to music.

In May 2016 she graduated high school and immediately enrolled in Sacred Heart College, Kochi, India where she finished her Junior year in June 2019. In Spring 2020 she transferred to Tarleton State University she is expected to graduate her bachelor degree in General studies with a concentration in accounting in May 2021. She is looking to do masters in Strategic Management or Accounting and also utilize her extra year of eligibility.

Athletic Information

During her junior career she achieved a highest ATF rating of 44 and a highest national Indian junior ranking of 30. She was multiple times state champion of Kerala (junior and open) and she obtained multiple singles and doubles titles in the all India circuit. Last year she was runner up in the AITA men and women 50k in both singles and doubles.

At TSU Gaayatri played #5 position in singles and #1 and #3 positions in doubles. She secured as 6-0,6-2 win over Mae Covacevich of Texas Wesleyan in her first D2 match for Tarleton. Gaayatri is very competitive during matches and practices. In her third match against Central Oklahoma, she fell down and injured her left ACL and had to retire at 6-4, 3-0 up. She had to undergo a surgery on the knee and started rehab when COVID-19 cancelled out rest of the season. 

This semester she is back on court practicing with the team and playing points. They start their season as a D1 school on January and she will be playing for the team.
