Personal and academic information

 

Anne is an 18-year-old girl who grew up with both her parents and her younger sister, Eva in Heemstede, The Netherlands. She is a very trustworthy and social individual who is keen to learn. She is a go-getter who always tries to bring out the best in herself.

 

Anne is very athletic and besides tennis she has practiced several sports like gymnastics, dancing, inline skating, long track speed skating and cycling. Anne is also involved in the Sports committee at her high school for two years now. Other hobbies are traveling and hanging out with friends.

 

In addition to tennis, Anne is also academically very strong, holding a 3.8 GPA. Currently, she is in her senior year of high school at the highest level (VWO). She is expected to graduate in the subjects: chemistry, biology, mathematics, economics, social sciences, Dutch language, English language and German language in June 2018. She scored a 102 on her TOEFL and is awaiting her ACT result.

 

Anne sees college tennis as a great opportunity to obtain a Bachelor’s degree while she can keep playing at a high level.

 

Athletic information

 

Anne is 5’9 feet left-handed player who likes to put pressure on her opponent from the baseline with her solid ground stroke game. When the opportunity arises, she comes to the net to finish the rally with a (drive) volley.

 

Her biggest weapons are her forehand (cross court and inside out) and her serve. She is mentally very strong and has a calm appearance on the court. In addition, she has outstanding footwork and has a great endurance. Anne likes to play in a team and is a real fighter.

 

During her junior career, Anne has successfully participated in several junior and open women’s tournaments as well as club competition. Anne spends approximately 10 hours a week on the tennis court at her club practice but she has also individual practice from Hans Schmidt to fine-tune her technique. 

 

Besides tennis Anne also participates in endurance training from Van Scheppingen Tennis.
