His biggest weapon is his backhand and he likes variety in his game by going to the net, playing backhand slice and dropshots. In addition he is mentally tough and has great defensive skills.

During his junior career he played the national junior circuit including the Dutch national junior championships. He was always ranked and his highest national junior ranking was top 20.

At the age of 14 Dominic went to Florida to train at the famous Bolletieri tennis academy for 3 weeks. The coaches were very enthusiastic about his talent in combination with his work ethic. The next year he went to other big tennis Academies in Spain such as Sanchez Casal in Barcelona.

At the age of 16, Dominic was diagnosed with a wrist injury that prevented him to play tennis at a high level.  For almost 2 years he had physical therapy and went to the gym in order to heal his injury. Dominic is now fully recovered,  practicing 5 times a week and is more driven than ever to compete and work hard.
