Personal and academic information

Milan is a 17-year-old guy who grew up together with his parents and little sister in Heemstede, the Netherlands. He is a very loyal and trustworthy person with a sense of perspective and a good sense of humor. Milan is a very athletic individual who also played soccer and golf before he decided to fully focus on tennis to improve his game. 

Ever since he was little he takes pleasure in skiing and snowboarding in the Austrian Alps during the winter break. In addition he likes traveling with his family and friends and he has been to the United States several times. During one of his trips to the USA he came up with the idea to combine his dream of studying in the States with his passion for tennis.

Milan is a very good student and currently a senior high school student at the highest level (VWO). He holds a GPA of 3.6 and is expected to graduate in June 2017. His subjects are: Dutch Language, English Language, German Language, Mathematics B, Mathematics D, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Sociology and PE.

In March 2016 he has participated in a pre-university Astronomy course at the University Leiden, a project for gifted students. In June 2016 he has passed his CAE Cambridge exam with grade B/CEFR Level C1 and an overall score of 196. Milan achieved a composite score of 27 on the ACT.

Athletic information

Milan is a 5’9 feet tall left-handed aggressive baseline player with a big forehand. When the situation requires he is able to adapt his game and he has a great variety of strokes. Milan has a big serve with a lot of diversity and he is very fast and maneuverable. He is also a good doubles player with his steady and efficient net game and he is a great team player. He is a highly coachable player and he likes to encourage his teammates when it’s mandatory.

During his junior career Milan has successfully played several junior as well as open tournaments. He also played club competition in the spring the last 10 years. The last two years, Milan made enormous progression also due to the fact that he got taller and more muscled.

In addition to his club training he also trained at the Dutch Tennis Academy. Nowadays he is also trained by Laurette van der Knaap (a former youth top 100 player). On average, he plays tennis 10 hours a week.
