Personal and academic information

Laura is a 17 year old girl who lives with her parents and younger sister and brother in Voorburg, the Netherlands. She is an ambitious, intelligent and friendly girl who likes to spend time with her friends and siblings. She is a very athletic girl and besides tennis she excelled in several sports like swimming, track and soccer. Laura also enjoys watching tv series,cook and travel. She has been to the USA several times to visit family and various parts of the country. 

Currently, Laura is in her senior year of high school at the highest level of education in the Netherlands (VWO) and is expected to graduate in June of 2016. She achieved a composite ACT score of 25 and a 98 on the TOEFL.

Laura sees college as a great opportunity to combine playing tennis at a high level with a good education and getting to know the USA better. Laura looks forward to this new challenge.

Athletic Information

Laura started to play tennis at age 6 and during her junior career Laura played the national circuits, national championships and achieved a highest national junior ranking of 25 (girls under 16). This summer, Laura started to play national open women’s tournaments and already achieved a national open ranking of 196. 

Laura is a right-handed player with aggressive baseline tennis. Her weapons are her backhand down the line, her powerful service and her agility. Laura maintains her fitness by going to the gym.

Laura is practicing at the Leeuwenbergh tennis school in The Hague together with high ranked junior and senior players. She has lots of experience playing for a team and she really enjoys it. This year she played in the first Leeuwenbergh women's team at the highest level and they ended as runner-up. Laura is highly motivated to practice and compete for a college team.
