Personal and Academic Information

Philipp is 19 years old and lives in Fribourg, Switzerland. He is a great athlete who likes sports in general especially racket sports, Golf and skiing. As a young boy, Philipp first started playing Basketball, followed by tennis at the age of 8, before getting into fencing (ranked 2nd of his age category in Switzerland) until the age of 12.

He is a motivated and hard-working guy who always gives his best to achieve his goals, on and off the court. He is open minded and is used to share and appreciates the team approach. While in high school, Philip has always taught tennis group lessons to younger talents in order to share his passion and financially contribute to his training costs. 

Philipp is currently a senior in high school and is expecting to graduate in July 2015. He is scheduled to take the TOEFL test in February 2015.

After high school Philipp would like to play College Tennis in the United States. It would be a great opportunity for him to combine his passion while obtaining a good degree.


Athletic Information


Philipp is a right handed player who has a quite aggressive game style. He likes to dictate the rallies with his forehand and to finish up points at the net whenever he has the opportunity. He is known among other players and coaches for his great fighting spirit and his positive attitude on the court. Over the years he has developed an outstanding mental strength. Philip never gives up until the last point, and will always keep a positive and fair play attitude. 


During his junior career Philipp was three times Junior State Champion (2010, 2011, 2012) and also took part in the Junior National Championships. Furthermore, he has been playing interclub with his home club TC Marly in the National C League (3rd best league in Switzerland) in the last 3 years. Philip has also always been ranked in the top national players of his age group and his current national open mens ranking is number 108 (Number 11 in his age group)

Philipp currently trains about 10 hours a week and plays over 25 tournaments per year. He likes to work hard to improve his game and become better and better every day.
