Personal and academic information

 

Maxine is a 18 years old girl from The Netherlands who is currently living with her family in Germany, just over the border with The Netherlands. Besides tennis Maxine likes to spend her free time with her friends and in the weekends she likes to go the movies.

 

She is currently a Senior in high school of the highest level in The Netherlands (Atheneum) and her interest is in the science area. Even though it is not easy to combine her busy tennis schedule with school she manages to obtain good grades by being very disciplined. She acheived a ACT score of 21 and a TOEFL of 77.

 

Her dream is to continue developing as a tennis player while obtaining a bachelor's degree. 

 

Athletic information

 

Tennis has been a passion for Maxine ever since she started playing at the local tennis club at the age of 8. After a few years she switched to the tennis school LTA in Belgium in order to practice more tennis with also physical and weight training.

 

During her junior career Maxine has always been nationally ranked amongst the top junior players. In the Dutch national open womens ranking she acheived a highest singles ranking of 51 this summer. She improved her doubles ranking from 167 to 97.

 

Maxine is a powerful aggressive right-handed player who likes to play an attacking game from the baseline. Her biggest weapons are her serve and forehand and in addition she has very good footwork. She is extremely fit and fortunately had never any injuries.

 

Maxine currently practices 13-15 hours tennis per week and she runs 2 times per week. In addition she has stability and weight training 2 hours per week in a group and 2 times per week at home.

  • 3 set win over Angelique van der Meet, Dutch open women’s ranking of 4 in 2014, highest WTA ranking 228, UTR 12
  • 6-3 6-3 win over Claire Verwerda, Dutch open women’s ranking of 23, UTR 10
  • 6-3 7-6 win over Laura Rijkers, Dutch open women’s ranking of 40, UTR 9
  • 6-3 7-6 loss to Zoe Scandalis (University of Southern California) WTA 959, UTR 11 
  • Won a national tournament in the highest series in Belgium (Maaseik, Ladies 1)
  • National ranking singles in the Netherlands: improved from 59 to 51
  • National ranking doubles in the Netherlands: rose from nr. 167 to nr. 97 by playing 2 tournaments
  • Reached semi finals singles of a national open ranking tournament in Landgraaf 
  • Reached quarter finals singles of a national open ranking tournament in Utrecht and Eindhoven
  • Reached semi finals doubles of a national open ranking tournament in Roosendaal

  • Improved ITF rating from 1990 to 1248 after playing only 2 tournaments:
    • ITF Justine Henin Limelette: first round win in singles main draw and reached finals in doubles
    • ITF Maaseik: Reached 3rd round in singles main draw where she beat #10 seeded Louise Wittouck (ranked 735, UTR 10) and played semi finals in doubles
  • Started competing in ITF futures: 
    • won her first match in qualifiers in Rebecq
