Personal and Academic Information
Anne is a 16-year old girl who lives together with her parents and younger brother and sister in Delden, the Netherlands. She is currently a senior in high school at the highest level of education (Gymnasium) holding a 3.0 GPA and she is expected to graduate in June 2015. Anne successfully completed the SAT (combine CR + M score of 1060) and TOEFL (score of 86).
In addition to tennis, Anne plays in a philharmonic youth orchestra as a violist. They won the national championship in their category in Rotterdam last year (www.tjso.nl). Anne also helps with community projects for her mother’s Rotary club.
Her dream is to play college tennis in the USA, because it’s a great opportunity to play and improve her tennis game, acquire great education and travel the world. This all will result a great life experience.
Athletic Information
Anne started playing tennis when she was 6 years old. She is a right-handed offensive baseline player. Her strengths are her steady backhand and her strong forehand. She has a great fighting-spirit and plays a strong mental and tactical game. Anne is a hard worker, both in practice as in matches and is extremely fit (she has never had any serious injuries). In addition, Anne is also a steady doubles player.
As a junior Anne played the national junior circuits and she achieved a national ranking of 29 (girls under 14), after winning a national tournament in Amersfoort the Netherlands. She is currently ranked 69 in the Dutch youth girls ranking under 16. Anne also won several women’s open tournaments in singles as well as in doubles.
After finishing in second place with her team in the National Girls Competition (girls under 17) in 2011, Anne and her team became National Champion in the competition in June 2012.
