Personal and Academic Information

Milou is a 16-year-old girl from Arnhem, The Netherlands who loves the game of tennis. In addition to her athletic abilities, Milou also excels in the classroom. Milou is currently a junior at the Arnhem International School and will graduate in May of 2013. 

Milou is scheduled to take Both her SAT and TOEFL test in june 2012 and upon completion of these tests she will be eligible to compete in the NCAA. Milou loves the American sports mentality and her ambition is to play college tennis in the USA since it will allow her to keep playing on a top level while pursuing a bachelor degree in communication at the same time. 
 

Athletic Information

Milou is a right-handed, high-energy player that plays an aggressive game from the baseline. Her biggest weapons are her forehand, serve and her excellent footwork. Besides that, Milou is mentally very tough and she is a great team player with an great fighting-spirit. Milou is used to work hard, practicing 10 hours on the court and 6 hours conditioning a week.

Milou In 2009 Milou was ranked nr.6 nationally (girls under 14) In 2009 Milou won a National top tournament girls under 14 (K2 Haren, the Netherlands) and was a runner-up at the Dutch Nike Junior Tour girls under 14.

 

In the summer of 2009 Milou moved to Spain (Barcelona) with her parents where she practiced at the Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona for two years. Milou won several Spanish tournaments and played many ITF junior tournaments in Europe, Africa and the United States (Eddie Herr/Prince Cup/Orangebowl). In addition, Milou played the Qualifiers of several $10.000 tournaments in Spain, and one $ 25.000 tournament in The Netherlands.

 

In the Fall of 2011 Milou returned to The Netherlands. She has an open Dutch national ranking of 138 but has beaten several players within the top 50.
