Personal Information

Nicholas is 17-year-old Dutch boy who loves the game of soccer and is determined to take his love for the game to the best level possible. He started playing the sport on a team at the age of 6. When he wasn’t on the field practicing with his teammates, he was in the street playing with his friends and neighbors. Even though soccer plays a major role in Nicholas's life, he is also aware of the importance of his studies, which means that school is his number one priority. Nicholas has big plans for the future and is committed to reach his goals both academically and athletically.

Nicholas is bilangual, speaking Dutch and English fluently and speaks a bit of Spanish, understanding almost everything in Spanish.

Athletic Information

Nicholas started playing soccer at the age of 6 at a local club called ONA’53. After a few years playing, he was scouted by the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) for the east Under-13 team and played several matches with them. Two years later he was asked to come play for a team that competes in a national competition called vv.Bennekom. In his first year at vv.Bennekom, they became champions and Nicholas was the league’s top scorer with 34 goals out of the 100 his team made in total that season. In his second year at vv.Bennekom, he was invited again by the KNVB, this time for the Under-16 team. In that season he scored 22 goals in 22 matches.

Due to his excellent soccer skills and great physique, Nicholas is playing one age group ahead in the category Under-19 this season. Nicholas’s strong points are: strong with the ball, good movement, an eye for the goal and last but not least, he is a hard worker. Nicholas loves the game and is always motivated for training sessions and matches.

Academic Information

Nicholas graduated high school in June 2011 and is currently a freshman at a Dutch university, majoring Business. He wants to transfer to an American university because it is the best place to combine academics and athletics. Additionally, it has always been a dream for Nicholas to study abroad and experience a different culture.

Nicholas has taken the TOEFL (scored 88) and he has a GPA of 3.1 He will be eligible to compete in the NCAA and NAIA.
