Personal and academic information

Timo Groeneveld is a 17-year-old guy who was born and raised in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands. He is a very social, ambitious person, and he’s always in for a challenge. Whenever Timo wants something, he won’t stop until he’s reached his goal.

Timo graduated high school at the highest level of education in the Netherlands (VWO) in June 2017 and is now looking to transfer to an American university in the Spring of 2018. He achieved a score of 90 on his TOEFL and is scheduled to take the SAT in December of 2017.

Personal and academic information

Timo has played soccer at the soccer club in his town, SV Valkenswaard since he was 4 years old. He started as a (defending) midfielder and even as a striker but the last years he is a central defender. During his junior career he has always played in the highest junior teams. In order to play at a higher-level, Timo transferred RPC in Eindhoven. Last year, he was a starter for the highest U19 team while he was 16 years old. This season he still plays for the U 19 team in the Hoofdklasse (highest amateur division).

Timo is a 6’4 ft, 183 lbs central defender with a good pass (both feet), good kicking technique and is good in 1-1 situations. Timo has great timing, intercepts a lot of balls and stays calm under pressure. In addition Timo has great heart and he won’t stop until the game is over. He also likes to move up to help his team in offence and because of his length he is always a threat in the penalty area with corners.

Even though Timo studies and lives in Nijmegen, he still plays soccer for RPC in Eindhoven. He travels 90 minutes to Eindhoven for each training, and 90 minutes after his training is done. This shows how motivated he is, to combine his study with soccer.
