Personal and academic information:


Julia Koorn is a hardworking and determined 22-year-old student athlete from the Netherlands. Besides softball Julia likes to meet new people and make new friends everywhere she goes. She is very passionate about nature and loves to learn new things. 

In June 2019 she graduated high school at the highest academic level (VWO) and immediately enrolled into Arizona Western College in the Fall of 2019. She is now working on her associates in Environmental science with Biology emphasis and is expected to graduate in May of 2021.


Julia is also a part of the honors program at Arizona Western College, and will therefore graduate with honors and a GPA of 3.9 (as of right now). Julia achieved a score of 100 on her TOEFL test. 


Julia likes to continue her athletic career while working on her bachelor’s degree. 


Athletic information:


Julia started playing softball as a little kid. Over the course of her career Julia has won multiple national championships in the Netherlands in different age categories (Topsport Junioren 2014, 2015 and Dutch Silver league 2017) Julia played at the highest junior level (Topsport Junioren) and will be playing for the Amsterdam Pirates at the highest level in the Netherlands (Hoofdklasse).Last season in the Netherlands she had an overall batting average of 0.567. She has also played in multiple international tournaments. Julia currently plays for Arizona Western College (NJCAA division 1), currently ranked #10 in the nation. 


Julia is a 5’10 ft 3rd and 1st base girl with a very powerful bat. Her international experience and overall understanding of the game give her the ability to think ahead and think quick in all kinds of stations. Julia is a real team player and a very coachable person. 


Due to COVID Julia will eligibility wise still be a freshman.
