Personal and Academic information


Milou is a 17-year-old girl who lives with her parents and her three sisters in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She comes from an athletic family, her mother is a frequent runner and boot camp enthusiast, her father plays tennis and golf, and two of her sisters play in the first team of field hockey club MMHC Voordaan. As a family they love skiing and ice skating and during the summer holidays they go out for multi-day hikes and canoeing in the European mountain areas Pyrenees and Alps.


Milou can be described as a sweet, enthusiastic, honest, loyal, hardworking, intelligent, go-getter with a great sense of humor. In addition she is a very social girl who loves to spend time with her friends, is ready to learn new things but also loves to teach and help other people. She has been training and coaching several field hockey teams and is a regular referee during games at her club. Although she spends most of her time on field hockey, she has multiple years of experience in tennis, sailing, skiing, snowboarding, water-skiing and hiking.


Milou is currently in her senior year of high school (VWO level) and is expected to graduate in the following subjects: Dutch, English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economy and Business Economics. She is scheduled to take TOEFL in the spring of 2021. 


Athletic information


Milou started playing field hockey at MMHC Voordaan as a 6-year-old and has played there ever since. Her favorite position is central midfielder, but if the situation requires she can play anywhere on the midfield and even as a striker in the front line. She shows strong perseverance in her game, has a fast Indian dribble and is a specialist in giving assists that lead to goals. With her high energy and positive attitude, Milou can give the team that last extra push to win the game. When the team is under severe pressure, she will be the first player to be back in her circle to support the defense. In addition she is the injector of the offensive corner in her team. She has strong leadership skills and is currently captain for the U-19-2 team.
