Personal and academic information


Carla is a 18-year-old girl lives together with her brother and parents in Ulm, Germany. She can be described as a very athletic girl and in addition to playing field hockey she is also an excellent skier.


In her free time Carla coaches a junior team and is a member of the event committee at her club.


Carla is also an outstanding student. She is currently in her senior year of high school at the "Kepler Gymnasium” at the highest level (abitur) and is expected to graduate in June 2018. Her favorite subjects are mathematics, geography, French and English. She is scheduled to take the TOEFL test in February of 2018.


Carla likes the American way of life and is excited about the opportunity to keep playing field hockey at the highest level while obtaining a bachelor’s degree.


Athletic information


Carla is a center midfielder with great technical skills and a good understanding of the game. She  is a real team player with strong leadership skills and is able to organize and coordinate the team. In addition she is physically very strong and has a good passing game. If the situation requires she is very capable to play defense as well. 


During her junior career Carla has always played in the highest teams of SSV ULM 1846 in her age group. In 2012 Carla was invited to play for the regional Baden-Würtemberg squad with the best juniors in the region where she played for 2 years. In the season of 2015/2016 Carla made the move from juniors to adults and started to play for the first women's team of SSV ULM 1846 that competes in the Oberliga. She quickly obtained a starting position in the midfield and she currently is still a strong holder for the team.
