Personal and Academic Information

Anne was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and  grew up as the youngest of 3 daughters. Anne has always loved sports and has also been active in other sports than hockey such as horseback riding and judo, in which she as a brown belt.

 

In addition to her activities in sport, Anne also had a semi-professional dance education of 3 years and took piano lessons for 7 years.

Anne is enthusiastic about everything that has to do with field hockey; besides playing she also teaches junior teams at her club. She also has worked in over 20 hockey camps of several organizations.

Besides being a good field hockey player Anne is also a great student. When Anne was 7 years-old she skipped the 4th year in primary school and she obtained her high school diploma at the age of 17 in May 2011. This diploma represents the highest high school academic level in the Netherlands. Anne successfully completed her SAT and is scheduled to take her TOEFL in February. Anne's dream is now to combine field hockey and pursuing a degree in psychology in the United States.

Athletic Information

Since Anne started to play field hockey when she was 6, she always played in de highest team of THC Hurley competing at the highest national level. During her junior career she won several tournaments and championships with her team. She has also played some games for Hurley 2 (second ladies senior team) that plays in the ‚Äėreserve hoofdklasse‚Äô.

 

Anne is a Forward but also often plays centre midfielder when needed. Anne is a dedicated team player who is a real leader in the field and the captain of her team. Her strong points are her technical abilities, speed and insight in the game
