Personal and academic information

Nicolas is a 18 year old boy who was born and raised in Roeselare, Belgium.

He graduated high school at the highest level in Belgium (ASO) in July 2016. The dream of playing in the United States was something that he really wanted to achieve and after visiting some schools, Nicolas and his family decided to attend Lee Academy in Maine. He is currently in his freshman year at Lindenwood University-Belleville (redshirting) and would like to continue his bachelor degree in business in the fall of 2018.

Nicolas achieved a combined score of 1180 on his SAT (R&L: 500; M: 680) and a 88 on his TOEFL tests.

Athletic Information

Nicolas started playing basketball when he was 5 years old and during his junior career he played at the highest junior level in Belgium. In 2012 he was given the chance to practice and play for the regional selection and at the same time moved to the biggest club in Belgium “Telenet Ostend” to play at a higher level. Here Nicolas practiced with great facilities to further develop his technical skills, physical and his shots. He eventually was selected for the Belgian Development Team.

In the summer of 2015 and 2016, Nicolas played with the Wolfpack team from Antwerp (Belgium) in two NCAA tournaments, the Chicago summer jam (Baylor basketball) and the NY2LA tournament in Milwaukee in order to get familiar with the American style of basketball.

The next season, Nicolas transferred to ’Basketball College Waregem’ to have the opportunity to play in the U18, but also in the national U21 league at the highest level in Belgium. Practicing on a daily basis and playing at least 2 games in a weekend gave him the opportunity to grow as a player.

In the fall of 2016 Nicolas made the choice to go to Lee academy in order to beter prepare for college basketball. At Lee he and his team made the NEPSAC finals and personally he had the chance to focus on things that he couldn’t do in Belgium. Even though the beginning was hard and he had to adapt to a lot of new things he really developed himself and is now fully prepared to play college basketball.

Nicolas is an athletic strong Small forward with a great shot and rebound. He is a real team player with a positive attitude, works hard and is willing to sacrifice himself for his team and his coach. In addition Nicolas is coachable and is always looking for ways to improve himself and makes every team better.
