Claudio was born and raised in Lucerne, Switzerland. He was awarded a full athletic scholarship to play tennis at the University of Arizona, AZ. During his college career in NCAA division I, Claudio played on the #1 spot in his junior and senior year and his best singles ranking in the nation was #37.

In 2004, Claudio became Swiss Champion under 18 in singles and doubles. After receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration, Claudio went back to Switzerland where he now works as a brand manager for several famous beverage companies.
